tackling the big beige wall.

going from this--------------------------------------to this.

here are all the supplies/tools i needed.

step 1: edge the room

step 2: starting at the corner measure the width of the stripes down the wall. you may want to make one wider than the other...i did.

step 3: starting in the top corner find the angle you prefer. i used 45 degrees. using the corner as a staring point measure down at an angle the desired length. at the end of that line measure down the wall with the same spacing as you did in the corner. use your level to make the marks across the whole wall at equal distances apart.

step 4: connect marks with tape.

step 5: paint over the tape with the main wall color. this color is the lighter of the two and for me, the thicker stripe.

step 6: peel off tape after each stripe is completed. i did this so i could correct the inevitable bleeding that occurs no matter which tape you use. i used an eyebrow brush to clean up the edges!

step 7: keep going! it took me about 16 hours!!

decor! i love home goods. picked these up, painted them, and added them to my display of mis·cel·la·ne·ousobjects.

found this there too. wasn't sure how it would go, but my theory is....if you love it, make it work!

i always practice my layouts on the floor before putting anything on the wall.

the misc. wall also has vintage soda cans, barn wood frames, folded magazine lanterns*, and fabric lucky charms*.

* = i made it!

picked up these new pillow covers during my trip to japan at franc franc. je t'aime!

happy first birthday today mo! you were a wee one here.
